Chefchaouen, the blue city of the Rif mountains, is northern Morocco’s most photogenic stop. Founded in 1471, its blue-washed medina, Uta el-Hammam square and Kasbah fit in one day. Our day trips run from Fez (about 200 km, 4 hours) or Tangier (about 110 km, 2 hours), private and in English.
Blue lanes and staircases, the Kasbah museum, the Grand Mosque’s octagonal minaret, Ras El Maa waterfall and the Spanish Mosque viewpoint at sunset — with Akchour waterfalls nearby for active travellers.
Most visitors come from Fez (about 200 km, 4 hours on mountain roads) or Tangier (about 110 km, 2 hours). Our day trips include private transport with an English-speaking driver from either city.
The free tour is a 2-3 hour guided walk inside the blue city only. If you are based in Fez or Tangier you also need transport (up to 8 hours of driving round-trip from Fez) — the day trip includes it. Many travellers combine both.
